As a clinical psychologist, my aim in therapy is to help people improve their lives by building on strengths, teaching new skills, and increasing self-awareness. By carefully listening to you, and understanding both your situation and who you are, I tailor an approach based on your unique needs.
I believe strongly in every individual's potential and ability to grow and change. I involve my clients in their therapy process while I create a safe, supportive environment for problem solving and change. Together, we arrive at therapy goals after our first 3 sessions.
Clients receive tools to utilize at home between sessions that expedite symptom relief, stress management, problem-solving, and creative solutions. I'm grounded in insight-oriented and cognitive-behavioral counseling. In addition I specialize Hypnotherapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Biofeedback.
I am accessible, down to earth, and practical. I take into account each person's individual needs and situation. I believe in working with people's strengths, guiding them forward toward their goals.

An important part of my practice is behavioral medicine. I can help people who have medical conditions—such as chronic pain, amputations, and brain injuries— reduce their symptoms and cope with problems related to having medical problems.
As a psychologist, I keep up-to-date on the very latest leading-edge ideas and techniques. Together, we choose which methods you are comfortable with. I'm a practitioner of the state-of-the-art mind/body therapies like pain management therapy, stress management, assertiveness training, cognitive-behavioral therapy, etc.
Although I employ many skills and techniques, I know that the heart of psychotherapy will always be the relationship that I have with each of my clients. I use compassion, wisdom, and humor to help clients understand and deal with problems in a way that's respectful and honors their unique situation. My style is grounded in the belief that promoting an individual’s innate desire and ability to move forward in life is the key to making progress in therapy.
If you're feeling overwhelmed in life, dealing with something you find increasingly hard to handle, and are ready to make a change, I can help. Please consider calling me to begin exploring a new way to live. |
